Luke Matone Architect is a design-led, RIAI-registered architectural studio based in Ventry, Co. Kerry. Founded in 2024, the practice engages with a broad range of projects and welcomes new challenges with curiosity and care.

With over a decade of experience in award-winning practices across the UK and Switzerland, Luke brings a collaborative, haptic approach rooted in a deep respect for place. His work seeks to be both poetic and purposeful — drawing from Ireland’s cultural and environmental richness, and blending contemporary design with vernacular forms, local materials, and traditional craftsmanship.

Every project is shaped by its context, with a strong focus on atmosphere, proportion, and detail — creating enduring, site-specific spaces that enrich the everyday.

Luke Matone

BA (Hons), M.Arch, PG.Dip, MRIAI
Registered Architect

Luke studied architecture at Kingston University (RIBA Part I), London Metropolitan University (RIBA Part II) and the University of Westminster (RIBA Part III). He trained as an architect in the offices of Christ & Gantenbein (2012-2013) and Herzog & de Meuron (2013-2014) in Basel Switzerland, and later with Tuckey Design Studio (2014), Casey Fierro (2016) and Morris+Company (2017-2023) in London, working across a broad range of sectors — from public and private housing to hospitals and art galleries.

Originally from Bristol in the South West of England, Luke relocated to Ventry, near Dingle on the South West coast of Ireland, in 2023. He established his own architectural practice there the following year.

Beyond architecture, Luke enjoys planting, growing, and cooking at home, as well as cycling, swimming, and sailing along the Kerry coast.

Services

I offer a competitive, comprehensive, and personal architectural service, guided by a clear, well-structured process in line with RIAI standards — no jargon, just good design.

Whether you need a one-off consultation, support with a specific project stage, or full architectural services from first sketch to completion, I can tailor my involvement to suit your needs.

I’m also building a trusted local network of consultants in planning, surveying, and construction — helping to identify what’s likely to be needed early on, so your project runs as smoothly as possible.

And if your site is within 10km of Ventry, I’ll cycle to visits whenever I can — a small way to reduce carbon emissions, and a great excuse to enjoy the view!

Studio

Open Monday-Friday, by appointment.
